Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Transformer Design Engineer to join our team in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing power transformers with capacities up to 30 MVA and voltage classes of 132 kV. This role involves preparing detailed designs, managing bills of material, and ensuring that all technical requirements are met according to customer specifications.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and Development:
    • Create detailed electrical designs for power transformers up to 30 MVA and 132 kV class, ensuring they meet industry standards and customer requirements.
    • Develop and prepare comprehensive bills of material based on design specifications.
  2. Technical Documentation:
    • Prepare technical submittals for customers, including detailed drawings, calculations, and compliance documents.
    • Review and verify manufacturing fabrication drawings to ensure they meet the customer’s technical specifications and industry standards.
  3. Cross-Departmental Communication:
    • Collaborate with Sales, Purchase, Production, and Quality Assurance departments to facilitate smooth project execution and ensure alignment with customer requirements.
    • Maintain effective communication with suppliers and customers to address any design or technical issues.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Transformer Design department within a transformer manufacturing company.
    • Proven track record in designing transformers according to IEC and ANSI standards.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Hands-on experience with various transformer types including foil winding, CTC conductors, disc winding, hermetically sealed, and conservator-type transformers.
    • Proficiency in using Transformer Design Software such as FoxPro, DesDT, iTRACs, or equivalent, along with MS Windows.
  • Knowledge:
    • Strong understanding of transformer calculations including short-circuit (SC), loading, cooling, and impulse testing.

Preferred Candidate:

  • Experience:
    • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in transformer design and technical documentation.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with internal teams and external stakeholders.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects while ensuring accuracy and adherence to technical requirements.
